2004-05-05 - 12:50 a.m. You're ruining the vibe! The Coachella trip was quite a success. On Saturday, I took in (the beginning of) Sahara Hotnights, (the end of) The Stills, And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, (part of) The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Death Cab for Cutie, Desert Sessions, Pixies, Radiohead, and (the majority of) Kraftwerk. Sunday, it was (the tail end of) !!!, (the beginning of) Broken Social Scene, (most of) Muse, Atmosphere, Sage Francis, (the end of) Belle & Sebastian, (most of) Bright Eyes, (some of) Air, (the end of) Prefuse 73, (a song by) Crystal Method, (a bit of) The Flaming Lips, Mogwai, and (the conclusion of) Basement Jaxx. Oh yes, and it was 40+ degrees both days. Whew. Desert Sessions were the highlight of Day One. Josh Homme is ultracool and he had a fantastic line-up with him. Sage Francis stole the festival, though, with his solo performance on Sunday. His set was worth the trip alone. I'll have more to say; but it'll have to wait until I recover on sleep, food, and hydration. (Oh, and I think that we've won the hockey pool.) J. |
