I would delete it

I saw the Metallica documentary, Some Kind of Monster, last weekend. Highly recommended. I went to see it with four other people, running the range from fan to non-fan to former fan; and everyone agreed that it was very well done. I don't believe that I have seen Laurie reaching for my Master of Puppets CD before; so if she and I both enjoyed the movie, that's a good sign.

I think that knowing the history of the people presented in the film probably added depth to some scenes. Overall, though, the personalities really tell their own stories, and the filmmakers present the events in such a way that you don't really need any advance knowledge.

If only Metallica had been touring with someone other than Limp Bizkit last summer, I'm sure that I would have seen them. That was just too much to endure, though.

Anyway, if you have the opportunity, you should definitely go see the movie.

The rest of last weekend was also good, whether hanging out with people or just staying at the house, poking at the garden. We got together with Matt and Erin a couple times, since they were in town for a few days.

The first time we met up, I was fandangled into another casino trip. Once again, I restrained myself to small wagers; but still made 120 bucks. (I got to split twice and double down once on the same hand, with the dealer showing a six. Sweetness.)

For now, I am mostly winding down the week in preparation for the trip home. Work is steady enough that time is passing quickly; but there are currently no customer emergencies, so I oughta be able to make an easy exit. I have been starting to make a few rough plans for what we'll be doing during the vacation; but I'll mainly just play it by ear. Should be good.

Now go see Some Kind of Monster, if for no other reason than to verify that Lars' father is indeed a gnome.

J.
