Krief

So, I already have one more concert to add to what I mentioned the other day, as Patrick Krief is supposed to be playing Zaphod's on April 25. I'm listing that somewhat tentatively because the news today was that his rehearsal space was broken into and cleaned out of all of his instruments and gear. That was pretty sad to read. Hopefully, he gets things sorted out enough to tour.

If you don't know Krief, he has been the guitarist for The Dears since 2004; and the band has been even better since they have finally seemed to lock someone in to that position. I've seen them four times since he came on board and he has always added to the already-intense live presence of the band. During The Dears' downtime, he recorded a 7-song EP, playing all parts himself, and the upcoming tour is in support of that project.

You can get hear one song on his web site, although for tour details and other song selections, you'll have to check out his MySpace page. If you like what you hear and he's coming your way, check out the live show and keep things moving forward for him after a major setback.
