Good question. It depends on the group. Sometimes the mistakes and how a band reacts to them are the best parts of the show.
For Calexico, though, it was more the case of a band enthralling you and having nothing break the spell--no stumbling or hesitation between songs, no miscues, no wasted effort. Each player always seemed to know exactly what the others were doing and the music was always interesting and engaging.
